Satish Sharma Inaugurates Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall in Khour

Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, inaugurated a modern multipurpose indoor sports hall in Khour on Monday. This initiative marks a pivotal effort in bolstering sports infrastructure in the border regions of the Union Territory.

During the inauguration, Sharma emphasized the government’s dedication to providing modern, accessible, and inclusive sports facilities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the need to concentrate on rural and border areas to foster a robust sports culture, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle among the young populace.

“Quality sports infrastructure at the grassroots level plays a crucial role in identifying, nurturing, and grooming sporting talent. Our aim is to ensure that no talented youth is deprived of opportunities due to lack of facilities,” Sharma stated.

The newly inaugurated indoor hall boasts world-class facilities that cater to various sports disciplines. It includes provisions for three badminton courts, six table tennis courts, a volleyball court, two judo courts, alongside wrestling and kabaddi courts, creating a comprehensive training environment for athletes.

Sharma also engaged in discussions with local youth and athletes, urging them to take full advantage of the new facility. He reassured attendees that the government remains focused on advancing sports infrastructure development, enhancing youth participation, and promoting talent in Jammu and Kashmir.

The inauguration of this indoor sports hall is anticipated to significantly enhance sporting activities in the Khour area and its surroundings. It will provide young athletes with access to modern, world-class facilities right in their locality, encouraging them to pursue their sporting passions.
